Ribbons, beads, pearls, black silver, brooches and Swarovski crystal.
They are on the short list of the favorite materials a local woman uses to handcraft jewelry. And I found her—and her colorful works—on Etsy.
“I have been making jewelry for six years now and really enjoy it,” said Jennifer S. in her profile on Etsy.com. “I have five beautiful children—four boys and one girl—and I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to start beading with me.”
Jennifer lives in Romeoville and owns and operates an online shop called jrscustomjewelry. She opened her Etsy store in December of 2011.
She currently is selling a Bridesmaids Brooch Necklace with Swarovski Crystals for $50. She describes the necklace like this:
“A triple-stranded necklace made with Swarovski crystals and a beautiful silver and red brooch. Available in other colors! Message me for color options.”
Each week, I’ll feature a local artisan here. If you know someone else in the area you'd like to see featured, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
