New Wound Care Center Opens at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital

The new center is a partnership between Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital and Healogics.

Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital hosted a Bolinbrook Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Wednesday afternoon to showcase the new wound care center at the hospital.

The center will feature a variety of wound care services and two hyperbaric chambers.

"Hyperbaric oxygen treatment helps the body heal by allowing patients to breathe pure oxygen inside a chamber with greater-than-normal atmospheric pressure," The Bolingbrook Hospital Web site states. "This saturates a patient’s blood with oxygen, promoting circulation that can clear infection and improve healing."

Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital CEO Rick Mace said the hospital partnered with Healogics to bring in, staff and operate the hyperbaric medicine portion of the wound care center.

"In partnering with Healogics, we were able to expedite access to technology like the hyperbaric machines," Mace said.
