Fast Facts: Last season, these two teams also met in the Class 4A Hinsdale Central Supersectional, and they put up a performance for the ages on CN100. The fact that the top two teams in the state had to battle for the right to go to state produced much consternation, but the reward for fans and CN100 viewers was a 85-74 quadruple-overtime thriller won by Young. That ended a three-year run of Bolingbrook state championships, and the Dolphins went to Normal and dominated their way to the crown. The star power is a bit lower this year, as last year both teams had a McDonald’s All-American and Bolingbrook had a whopping eight Division I players, but this still remains one of the state’s top games. Young enters at 27-4, and the Dolphins have yet another McDonald’s All-American in Harper, who is averaging 25 points and nine rebounds per game. Harper is also a junior Olympic team member. She is committed to Kentucky. Allen and Hillsman are also both averaging double figures. Cattenhead is an Illinois recruit and has recently returned after missing two months with a knee injury. Bugg has also been slowed by an ankle injury of late, but the Raiders are still a talented, deep team despite losing all of those Division I players to graduation last year. This is the eighth time in the past nine years the teams have met in the postseason.

Quotable: “We lost eight seniors last year, so this is a new team that is coming together at the right time,” Bolingbrook coach Anthony Smith said. “I feel the start of the game will be key with so many young players. Getting a good start will be the key.”
