Bolingbrook Halloween 2012: Trick-or-Treating, Parties, Haunted Houses and More

Trick-or-Treating, Oct. 31 

All children and families should plan to trick-or-treat in Bolingbrook between 4 and 7 p.m. on Halloween. 

Those are the designated trick-or-treating hours on Oct. 31.

Halloween Happenings in Bolingbrook, Oct. 26

Hours: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at BRAC 

$5 per child at the door, presented by the Bolingbrook Park District and the Bolingbrook Lions Club

Show off your costume and enjoy carnival games and prizes, indoor playground, special inflatables, magic show and scary stories.

For $2, stay at Pelican Habor from 8:30 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. to watch "Hocus Pocus" in your swimsuit.  

Free Bolingbrook High School Halloween Bash for Kids, Oct. 26 

Hours: 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Location: BHS cafeteria 

Children between the ages of two and nine are invited for an evening of Halloween fun and games including a chance to show off their costumes, play games, and win prizes and candy.

Entry to the event is through Door 17 on the school’s south side.

Hayrides, Night Hikes at Hidden Lakes Trout Farm 

All ages are welcome – children age 10 years and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Times are 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Fee is $8; $5 with Res ID.

A Night Hike will be offered on Friday, Oct. 26 at Hidden Oaks. Bring a flashlight and explore 80 acres of Hidden Oaks Conservation area. Children age 10 years and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Night Hike runs from 6 to 7 p.m. and is $10; $5 with Res ID. Call (630) 739-2600 for more information.

Halloween Open House at Boardman Cemetary, Oct. 31 

Bolingbrook Historic Preservation Commission is holding a Halloween Open House, Wednesday October 31 at Boardman Cemetery from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

In addition to treats, this year a local resident Jim Stenhouse, and friends, will be portraying historic figures buried in Boardman Cemetery. They will talk about Elizabeth Cleavland (this is the 180th anniversary of her burial), Harry Boardman, Polly Royce, and Robert Strong.

The show times are at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and each will last around 30 minutes. The cemetery is north of Royce Road on Paxson Drive.
