Crews Begin Tearing Down Old Fountaindale

Bolingbrook residents may be more excited about the new library, but only a few more days remain until the old one is gone for good.

Construction crews began demolishing the old library on Thursday. The land where the old library sits will be used for additional parking for the new Fountaindale Library, which opened about a month ago.

Tony Lucarelli, a spokesman for the library, said exterior demolition of the old library began Thursday after the basement had been gutted earlier that past week.

Lucarelli said crews are expected to finish demolition of the old library by April 11, weather permitting.
