"My family has done this the past 3 years. Last night we turned off all the lights at 8:30, lit some candles and read books by flashlight. We kept the lights off the remainder of the night. My daughter asked why nobody else around was turning off their lights and I said not everyone knows about it or wants to do it, which is their right. But every little bit helps and one by one we can make our planet a better home for our children's futures. What has always amazed us are the photographs online of the major cities around the world with most of their lights off (picture Las Vegas with minimal lights; the dark Eiffel Tower!)." , commenting on .
