1. Buona Beef to Open in August

Officials from Buona Beef say their new Bolingbrook location should be open by the middle of August.

The restaurant, which specializes in Italian beef sandwiches and homemade pizzas, will move into the old Krispy Kreme building at 303 S. Weber Rd., which had been vacant for years.

Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar said the Krispy Kreme building had been long vacant because of the property's prime location and asking price.

Buona Beef has nearby locations in Naperville and Darien if you'd like to sneak a taste in before Bolingbrook's opening — if you do, be sure to leave a review for us!

2. Supercar Saturday Happening at The Promenade

Head on over to to see some of the area's finest automobiles line the streets. Take some time from your patriotic festivities to attend the Supercar Saturday car show, which runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. 

The event will take place in The Promenade's parking lot in front of —the same location as the Farmers Market.

5. It May Be Out of Town, But C'mon... it's Ribfest!

It’s not a good time to be a pig.

Ribfest kicks off Friday with 14 rib vendors ready to turn Porky into a delicious festival feasting experience.

With warm and sunny weather forecasted for the weekend, officials with Ribfest are expecting large numbers of people will attend the four-day event.

Julie Lichter, the 2011 Ribfest PR and Marketing Chair, said that the organization anticipates that between 200,000 and 300,000 people will attend the festival.

And be sure to check out Patch's booth at the event! Stop by and say hi! You'll also be able to get some really cool free stuff!
