Five Things to Know Today: June 23

1. AKA Night at Culver's — Help a Good Cause, Eat Some Good Food

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Chi Sigma Omega Chapter invites all community members to eat at Culver’s today and learn more about ways the ladies in pink and green are working to end global poverty.  This family friendly event will provide a platform for Chi Sigma Omega Chapter to discuss the sorority’s global poverty initiative, intended to end hunger and malnutrition, preserve the environment, and empower women.  

The event lasts from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Mention “AKA” when making a purchase and a percentage of the sale will be donated to Heifer International.

All event proceeds will be donated to Heifer International.  Heifer International’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth.

2. Bolingbrook Man Promoting New Web-Based Classified Ad Service

Rick Rodgers, a Bolingbrook resident, was recently featured in an article from the Carmi Times, for his part in promoting a new Web-based classified ad service called NacNak.

5. Free Wizard and Dragon Show at Annerino

Head over to the to see the magic of a wizard and the presence of dragons. The event is free and starts at 2 p.m. Preschoolers must be with an adult.
