1. Local church offers unemployment support group.

On Friday, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report showing that the — far fewer than expected by economists. The national employment rate remained largely unchanged, rising one-tenth of a point to 9.1. percent.

To help the incredible pressure that faces many families with at least one unemployed adult in the household, a local church is offering an unemployment support group, which was established in an effort to provide support and coping strategies for family members experiencing the challenges associated with job loss.

This group meets the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at . 

2. Fountaindale offering free fax service.

The Fountaindale Public Library is . For $1.50 for the first page and $1 for each page after that, patrons can fax items from the Business Resource Center on the third floor. Cash only. Ask an Adult & Teen Services staff member for assistance.
