Five Things to Know Today: June 9

1. ATI Foundation 5K Run, Walk and Roll

Hall-of-Fame hockey player Denis Savard and one Chicago's top cover bands, Maggie Speaks, will headline the , which will be held June 12 at the ATI Physical Therapy Clinic at 3082 Caton Farm Rd. in Joliet.

The annual event raises funds to help improve the lives os children with physical impairments. Registration is $25 and is available online at www.ATI5K.com. Children 12 and under are free.

2. BHS Grads Competing in NCAA National Track and Field Championships

Two of Bolingbrook's own are competing in this week's NCAA National Track and Field Championships at the Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Troy Doris will be representing the University of Iowa in the triple jump on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Stanley Azie represented the University of Illinois Wednesday by qualifying for the 100-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay finals, which are scheduled for Friday and Saturday respectably.

Azie qualified for the 100-meter finals by finishing fourth in his preliminary heat with a time of 10.34; and the 4x100-meter relay finals by finishing first in the team's preliminary heat with a time of 38.72. 


Azie will also be competing in the 200-meter dash tonight.

Both Doris and Azie are graduates. Bolingbrook Patch would like to congratulate the two on their accomplishments and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming events.

5. Rent a Book, Get Free Gelato!

From now until October 29, if you rent a book at the Fountaindale Public Library's Bookmobile, you'll get a free scoop of gelato at .

The bookmobile is open in front of the restaurant each Monday from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

And as always, kids eat free at Francesca's.
