Police Blotter: DUI Arrests, Burglaries & Criminal Damage to Property

A Freightliner truck was taken from a parking lot on the 300 block of E. South Frontage Road and $3,400 was stolen from a residence on Wellington Lane, according to police reports.

The following property damage, theft, violence and traffic incidents were reported by the Bolingbrook Police Department and Will County Sheriff’s office:

Sept. 17: Javier Castillo-Huerta, 48, 117 Cypress, Bolingbrook, was arrested by Will County Sheriff’s police on charges of aggravated DUI and no valid driver’s license. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Sept. 5: Officers were called to the 400 block of Wellington Lane for the report of theft. A bank envelope was taken from the residence between Sept. 4-5. Loss valued at $3,400.

Sept. 5: A 2006 Freightliner truck was taken from a parking lot on the 300 block of E. South Frontage Road between Sept. 4-5.

Sept. 5: Kirsten Simmons, 21, 116 Delmar Drive, was charged with two counts of DUI and no tail lights following a traffic stop at Robinhood Way & Bolingbrook Drive at 2:16 a.m.

Sept. 5: Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Schmidt Road for the report of a robbery. An unknown subject grabbed the juvenile victim’s cell phone as they were walking to school at 8:18 a.m. and then ran from the area.

Sept. 5: Officers were called to Lot D of Fernwood Drive for the report of a residential burglary. A TV, misc. jewelry and clothes were taken between 8:30-11:15 a.m. The front door was found damaged.

Sept. 5: Officers were called to Territorial Court for the report of criminal damage to property. Unknown offender broke vehicle windows and pulled the truck’s ignition from dashboard between Sept. 4-5.

Sept. 5: Officers were called to the 600 block of W. Briarcliff Road for the report of a burglary to the motor vehicle. A laptop was taken from the vehicle at 4:30 p.m. Loss valued at $1,200.

Sept. 6: A 2008 Strick trailer was taken from a parking lot on the 100 block of E. Old Chicago Drive between Sept. 5-6.

Sept. 6: A vehicle window was broken and laptop, Ultapak machine, display stand and table cloth were taken from the vehicle parked in a business parking lot between Sept. 5-6. Loss valued at $4,500.

Sept. 6: Officers were called to the 600 block of W. Boughton Road for the report of a burglary to motor vehicle. A vehicle was smashed to gain entry and a tool set was taken between 11 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. Loss valued at $40.
