Police Blotter: Home's Front Door Kicked In, Burglarized

Friday, Oct. 7

1. Warrant

Marquis Flowers, 19, of the 400 block of Ascot Lane in Romeoville, was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 53 and Beaconridge Drive at 2:40 a.m.

2. Warrant

Cambren Powell, 18, of the 300 block of Kirkwood Circle, was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop at the intersection of Hywood Lane and Granada Court at 2:45 p.m.

3. Warrant

Jose Mendoza, 40, of the 500 block of Jill Lane, was charged with an in-state warrant at 3:50 p.m.

4. Disorderly conduct

Gerald Humphrey, 20, of the 400 block of Drexel Avenue in Aurora, was charged with disorderly conduct following a call to Lot B on Fernwood Drive for the report of numerous subjects loitering at 10 p.m.

5. Retail theft

Jessica Bryson, 223, of 500 Kings Way in Joilet, and Cornelius Edgeworth, 19, of the 500 block of Kings Way in Joliet, were both charged with retail theft at Macy’s, 645 E. Boughton Rd., at 6:31 p.m. after several fraudulent transactions were made.

6. Retail theft

Saffa Khasib, 24, of the 200 block of Homewood Drive, was charged with retail theft at Kohl’s, 1138 W. Boughton Rd., at 6:37 p.m. after police say she allegedly places several items in her purse and left without paying.

7. Car burglary

Police were called to the 600 block of Preston Drive for the report of a burglary to a car. An unknown subject broke the driver’s side window and attempted to pull the taxi meter between Oct. 7 and Oct. 8.

8. Residential burglary

Police responded to the 1600 block of Prairieview Boulevard for the report of a residential burglary. The homeowner told police they returned to the home at 9 p.m. and found the front door kicked open and numerous pieces of jewelry, an iPad, a digital camera and an Acer notebook.
