Village: Boughton Road Construction to Begin in September

Bolingbrook officials said they hope to have the eastbound lanes repaved by end of October.

Village officials say they'll wait until crews complete the fourth and final phase of the before they begin tearing up and repaving the eastbound lanes of Boughton Road.

“We don’t want to tie up traffic on two of our major arterial roads through town at the same time,” said Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar at the village board meeting earlier this week.

Claar said construction should begin in early September.

The , which features a lengthy bump that village officials say is due to an underground ComEd junction box.

The village received a $2 million federal grant to help complete the project. Claar said the village still needs to sit down with ComEd officials to seek out financial relief from the electrical company.

At its meeting Tuesday, the village board approved a measure that will spend $148,702 on engineering for the repaving.
