What Did You Think of the Drew Peterson Lifetime Movie?

Lifetime debuted "Drew Peterson: Untouchable" last night. What did you think?

Now's not the time to awkwardly deny you watch Lifetime movies, not when the channel's most recent flick was about Bolingbrook's own, Drew Peterson.

Lifetime debuted "Drew Peterson: Untouchable" last night. The film stars Rob Lowe as Peterson, the disgraced ex-Bolingbrook cop who is accused of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in March 2004.

The movie has been in the works for nearly a year and is based off of Shorewood Patch Editor Joseph Hosey's book Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Drew Peterson.

Patch movie critic  said the movie "remains true to the real-life saga, which is a relief."

He goes on:

After all, you can’t get much weirder than what we can only imagine really happened to Drew’s third and fourth wives.

Rob Lowe really did his homework on the South Suburban accent here. Lowe nails the flat nasally voice that we’re all familiar with. I can easily imagine him perfectly ordering up a poor boy at Merichka’s.

One minor complaint about the overall film: Where was Will County State’s Attorney Jim Glasgow? With his neatly trimmed ‘stache and muscle Ts, he would have been an easy cast fit here.

Chicago Sun-Times movie critic he was hoping the movie "would do justice to the memories of Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson, and achieve something beyond high camp."

The Chicago Tribune also reviewed the movie: "You come to this prepared to laugh, because of (Rob) Lowe, because of Lifetime, because of what our public reaction to Peterson came to be," says the review, which was written by Steve Johnson. "But despite a lurid trailer that made the rounds, this is no piece of inadvertent high camp."

Meanwhile, Hosey said:

"The screenwriter, Teena Booth, did a great job of cramming five years of complicated storyline into less than two hours. I also got a kick out of watching Rob Lowe re-enact things I had seen in Drew's neighborhood and home, and how the actors portrayed people I got to know pretty well over the years."

Haha. The Big Daddy line had me dying. Along with the "I'm untoachable blank" line. I've now used them multiple times in my personal life for comedy. So thanks Hosey for contributing to some great comedy. The was like an SNL parody right? Da Bears Da Bears Da Bears. I didn't know Coach Ditka was married to Stacy.

I think Mr P just might pull this whole thing off, and all he'll really get is time served. It's my understanding that they have no good solid evidence. They just know he did it, as we all do. That cannot convict. The gloves won't fit again.......

Steve I'm still trying to find the Play It Again Sports we have!!
Tom Selleck January 26, 2012 at 04:12 PM
I agree Ernie!

I have to agree with ya on everything you said. They play stacy off as being nieve to the whole world around her and drew being sweet has honey. What I want to know is how much did Joe make off of these murder and how much actually went to the families of Kathleen and Stacy?

We are working on the major motion picture "Drew" based on the first non quick release third book about the Peterson case, "Analyzing Monsters - The Drew Peterson Saga". We intend to present the truth, proper sequence, proper names and real ending. Many of the Lifetime non events presented as evidence were debunked long ago. The blue tote or barrel story is actually a drunkalog of Peterson's newer stepbrother Tom Morphey as told to his neighbor Walter Martinek. There is no police report on the garage confrontation with the now famous line, "I'm untouchable bitch". It never happened. Peterson's two adult sons who were living in the home at the time of Kathleen's death both refute the Hosey quick release Book (Ends before Dr. Phil's Lie Detector Show- Peterson passed). Stephen was a cop at the time. They doubt any murders occurred let alone that their father did it. Stacy also provided a solid alibi. Is she an accessory to murder? If real evidence has anything to do with real justice and Karma does exist one may see Drew Peterson playing Rob Lowe on the big screen soon. Peterson was senior staff sergeant manning the desk on nights. Do you think he was cruising with a no humor partner during the day or ever for that matter? Based on evidence the prosecution should be looking at other potential suspects in addition to Peterson if they still believe their murder theory. The main thing the lifetime movie nailed is that Drew (and now Rob Lowe as Drew) can kill a good time.

Peterson did confirm the restaurant incident. Peterson also suspected the reverend (younger than the movie portrayal at the time) of sexual interests. The Reverend is reported to have met with Stacy off church grounds and also dined with her. Peterson shared Stacy would ride her Harley past his home/office in her bikini just to tease him and provide a laughable moment for the both of them. Three children are now adults. they should be listened to. Stacy, Kathleen, Drew and the older boys have parented the younger children very well.

"There's far worse murders out there." So this is one of those not-so-bad murders?
Ernie Carneau January 28, 2012 at 06:03 AM
Well, there's so much that we don't know. Alot of the movie "could" have happened. No one was paying attention because everyone thought he was on the up & up. Seriously, a cop killer who targets wives? It's a first that I know of, at least 2 of them. And come on, we all know he killed both of them, even if we can't prove it.
Watchful Eye January 28, 2012 at 06:30 AM
"There's far worse murders out there?" Did I read this right? There's far worse murders than Drew Peterson having killed Kathleen Savio? Does that mean he's not so bad, or does that mean Kathleen's life is not as important as some other poor murdered soul? OMG, every time I think I've seen it all when it comes to this case, there's always something or someone to prove me wrong.
Tom Selleck January 28, 2012 at 03:03 PM
We can only assume he may have killed one and the other is missing! Here in the good old U.S. we are innocent until proven guilty! That's what I can't stand here , people have Drew convicted already!
Joseph Hosey (Editor) January 28, 2012 at 03:08 PM
Actually, Tom, it sounds like you're the one who has him convicted of murder. Only, according to you, there have been "worse" murders perpetrated by others (what?). So, if we follow this train of thought, Drew should be let out of jail? Or get a lower bond? Or ... what is it you're trying to say again?
Tom Selleck January 28, 2012 at 03:20 PM
Sorry I never mentioned he's guilty of anything!
Tom Selleck January 28, 2012 at 03:31 PM
Also Joe his 20 million dollar bond is a joke! A career criminal from Carol Stream stabs his wife to death with several stab wounds and gets a $750,000.00 bond!
Marsha January 28, 2012 at 05:56 PM
That is awesome.......because in past cases, the "client" wouldnt TALK, but Old Tom Selleck sure does alot of talking. I hope the FBI is on to this blog. they can sure piece together alot of info just connect the computer its coming from. Im sure Mr. Selleck will morph into another name or vanish. Interesting take on the FB. What a worm.
Watchful Eye January 28, 2012 at 06:30 PM
Selleck, I didn't realize my comment was over your head. Obviously, your reading comprehension is a little off-the-mark. Let me help you. If you re-read my statement, which you have now re-posted twice, I did not say Peterson was the worst murder defendant ever. I said he was the biggest "clown" of a murder defendant. I'm sorry, I didn't realize that my comment was too difficult for you to understand. Forgive me. One other thing, Selleck. There is no need to re-post my comment, which you have done twice now. Do you have a problem with me posting here? You sure are being rude to me.
Tom Selleck January 28, 2012 at 07:04 PM
Oh sorry watchful eye ! I'll man up and admit I misread your comment! Over the years I've seen far worse biggest clowns of a murder defendant ever ! Shall I name several over the years? Watchful eyes since I don't want to hurt your sensitive feelings, I removed one of my comments !
Watchful Eye January 28, 2012 at 08:08 PM
You do whatever you want Selleck. I really don't care. My feelings are just fine, thank you.
Tom Selleck January 28, 2012 at 10:10 PM
My feelings are fine too ! I just love to stir the pot here and ruffle everyones feathers to see how stupid they react!
Tom Selleck February 01, 2012 at 01:28 AM
I found this to be very interesting ! This idiot from Bolingbrook stabs his mother to death for no apparent reason and flees to be found 85 miles away! His bond 5 million for one count of murder, bloody knife and violent crime scene! Drew Peterson one count of murder 20 million bond and 7 year old crime scene and hearsay! http://philippinetimesofsouthernnevada.com/featured/pre-trial-up-tuesday-for-fil-am-in-moms-killing/
tom February 01, 2012 at 01:43 AM
Maybe Drew and move to Naperville if he ever gets out of jail.
Tom Selleck February 01, 2012 at 02:02 AM
Tom you write like you are illiterate ! Read your previous comment!
Joseph Hosey (Editor) February 01, 2012 at 02:05 AM
Easy there Selleck. You've had some pretty shoddily put together comments yourself. Stop the personal attacks.
Tom Selleck February 01, 2012 at 02:56 AM
Sure Joe ! Just for you!
Joseph Hosey (Editor) February 01, 2012 at 03:00 AM
Thanks Magnum.
Robert February 02, 2012 at 01:43 AM
If Drew Peterson looked like Rob Lowe these babes would have never dumped him like they were. Did "big daddy" mean Drew looked like he was pregnant?
Faceless Victim February 03, 2012 at 11:35 PM
Just like the numerous repeated news articles he posted in the Herald News, it seems that Joe Hosey was more interested in hearing his own name than telling a real story. It was quite self serving... Joe, next time start at the beginning of the story instead of the middle and maybe you'll have something. Drew was a dirty cop all the way back when he was a NARC for Will county. You seem to have missed a lot of information that would paint Drew in a less than gleaming light, although as you have referred to him as "Will County's favorite son" and several other light monickers, I believe you actually look up to Peterson. No mention of Kathleen being treated for the beating she took at the hands of Drew Peterson. It was a shoddy made for TV spoof at best. Sorry, I never thought you were all that great of a writer when you were with the Herald, which is a dead news source anyway. Do dome research about Drew and how he was buying drugs from Bindy Rock and later set up Rock when his buying was discovered by his superiors and he claimed he was acting as a rogue agent for MANS.....
Tom Selleck February 04, 2012 at 12:53 AM
I still wouldn't want to have messed with Drew!!!!!
Tom Selleck February 04, 2012 at 12:56 AM
Drew was never accused by MANS of buying drugs! As for Binndy Rock he is a low life dirt bag drug dealer/ cop killer!!!
Tom Selleck February 04, 2012 at 01:00 AM
Joe Hosey how are you?I just want to throw you a little bone ! Did you ever try to talk to and ask the ex- Chief prior to the last two Chiefs ,why he didn't handle Drew differently or took disciplinary action against him!
