A Plainfield Library Board member has announced her intention to run for the District 5 Will County Board seat in November.

Gretchen Fritz, deacon at a Bolingbrook church and conservative talk radio host for WIND AM560, said she plans to run for the seat recently vacated by Lee Ann Goodson, who stepped down to take a job with Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare.

In a campaign announcement, Fritz say she's a longtime proponent of the Second Amendment, as well as "a concealed carry instructor for SAFER USA, a member of the National Rifle Association and the Illinois State Rifle Association."

Fritz also serves as a deacon at Fellowship Chapel of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Bolingbrook and hosts a show at 9 p.m. Sundays on conservative talk radio station WIND AM560 on On Target Radio.

Fritz, who has a bachelor's degree in music business from Millikin University and a master's in library and information science from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee,
was selected unanimously by a committee of Republican precinct committeemen from Will County Board District 5 on Wednesday to run for the board.

Former Wheatland Township board member Darren Bennefield will also run as a Republican for the District 5 seat. Bennefield was appointed last month to replace Goodson on the board.

Fritz said she is a 30-year resident of Will County. She was elected to the Plainfield Public Library board in 2013.

Wow, you are sad, bitter and transparent. The only dolt here is you and your Democratic boot licking. Carry on your doltness. More and more folks are aware of your partisanship cloaked in your righteous community protector identity. Its getting very funny. Your just the last to know that everyone is laughing at you.

Fair is fair. I do a lot of laughing, too. I don't care who or how many like or don't like my opinions or actions. At least I own them. Maybe if you had the guts to be you instead of "Plainfield First" people could judge you, the whole person, in your transparency, too? Nah, you're right. You stay hidden in the closet with the "more and more folks" and the "everyone" and the "most people" you keep claiming are right there with you. Sounds crowded. And funny. And, just to circle back to the main point in closing: Vote Bennefield for Will County Board on Nov. 5th.

Not all things lead back to peck, just the dysfunctional things.... like this; http://electbalich.com/category/my-campaign/ "Plainfield Tea Party organizer Garrett Peck" - "Tim Kraulidis was appointed vice chairman of the Plainfield Township Republican Party. Other Tea Party members became precinct committeemen." - "Immediate Past Chair & Vice – Chair/ Treasurer Gretchen Fritz." - Welcome to the information age, clowns.

So what if she isn't finishing her term before seeking another office. Obama served only half of his term as Senator and how effective was he in the Senate while running for president. Would Gretchen be more appealing if she came out for women's rights in the form of free contraception and abortions? What if she shamed the wealthy by saying "we" built the roads you use, not you! Give her a chance. Local politicians are more accessible than state and national legislators. So, any abuse of the office is easier to remedy.

Yep. And the solution to remedy the abuses of the PTRO is to no longer vote for them. We already know the damage the PTRO causes, so there's no need to 'give them a chance' any longer.
