19th Annual Benefit Auction raising funds for Day Camp and more!

On Friday, April 29 the Camp Fire USA Illinois Prairie Council will hold its annual fundraising auction––“A Night at the Lodge”––at Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge in Hinsdale. The event will begin at 7 pm and the live auction at 7:30. A silent auction will also take place and attendees will be able to bid throughout the evening until the auction closes.

            Both auctions will offer the chance to bid on a wide range of items while supporting the nation’s oldest non-sectarian organization for girls, this year celebrating 101 years of service, originally to girls, and today (for more than 35 years) to girls, boys and families.

            Items being auctioned will include sports memorabilia and tickets, gift certificates for dinner at area restaurants and for golf at local courses.

            This year’s offerings will be several extra-special items including:

            • A “backstage” tour of the hospital facilities at Brookfield Zoo led by veterinarian Dr. Mike Adkesson

             • Lunch with a member of the women’s recent World Cup bobsled teams

             • A La Z Boy recliner that bidders can audition before bidding (no napping, please)

             • A wild game dinner, prepared and served in your home for you and a party of your friends

             Hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening and a cash bar will be available.

            Tickets to the auction are $50.00, but those purchasing before April 15 will get an “early bird” discounted price of $45. Tickets may be purchased by calling the council office at 630-629-5160 or by sending a check or emailing payment information to info@campfireusa-illinois.org.
