The contests are part of the commission's 2013 Arbor Day celebration on April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The coloring contest is open to four- to seven-year-olds. The poster contest is open to eight- to 14-year-olds. The deadline to participate in each contest is April 5.

Enjoy tree giveaways, expert planning advice, poster contest display, a clown, face painting, train rides, free raffles and free soda and hot dogs at the Arbor Day event.
The tree planting ceremony will be held at Bulldog Park at 351 Blair Ln. Other festivities will take place in the parking lot of Lowe's, 245 Weber Rd.
