B.J. Ward Officials Send Cards, Boxes of Supplies to Tornado Victims

Gesture intended to raise the spirits of school children in Washington and Coal City/Diamond.

Students at Bolingbrook's B.J. Ward Elementary School made holiday greeting cards for their counterparts in the Illinois tornado ravaged towns of Washington and Coal City/Diamond.

And the cards have been shipped along a number of boxes of school supplies collected during the school's drive to assist the tornado victims, according to a Valley View School District news release.

Some of the staff members were captured in this photograph supplied to Patch, including Ruth Sanchez, Assistant Principal Susan Padilla, Ana Saldivar, Susan Moore and Maura Raslowsky.
