Bolingbrook Air Force Junior ROTC Cadets Plan a New Kind of Trick-Or-Treating

Cadets will be going door-to-door on Halloween night and asking residents to donate canned goods instead of candy as part of their ongoing food drive.

Yep, they're going trick-or-treating for cans.

Never heard of it?

Well, then you've likely never heard of the Bolingbrook High School Air Force JROTC cadets and their grit and determination to make their annual food drive to support a local pantry and homeless veterans a success.

The cadets—as part of an ongoing effort—are organizing a trick-or-treat for cans effort on Halloween night, according to a Valley View School District news release. They'll be asking residents to donate canned food instead of candy.

The Bolingbrook Air Force JROTC has set a goal to collect 2,200 non-perishable canned food items by Nov. 19.
