Bolingbrook Parks Names New Executive Director

Ron Oestreich, a resident of Romeoville, is currently the superintendent of revenue facilities at Bolingbrook Park District.

The Board of Commissioners announced today the appointment of Ron Oestreich as the new executive director.

Oestreich, a resident of Romeoville, is currently the superintendent of revenue facilities at , a position he has held since 2000.

Oestreich is expected to begin his tenure on May 1.

The position was last held by Susan Hoster-Suggs, 44, who .

“Throughout the search process, it became clear that hiring Ron was the best way to continue the positive momentum and success that was in place with Susan Hoster-Suggs,” Board President Al Traczek said. “Ron has great experience and proven results with the district and we’re confident in his abilities."

Oestreich has more than 20 years of experience in parks and recreation, most recently managing the operations of , , , and Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park, an award winning aquatic center.

“I am honored to be named executive director for an amazing organization with an incredibly dedicated team of staff and commissioners," Oestreich said. "I have seen Bolingbrook Park District grow in many ways, so continuing the positive momentum is one of my main goals."

Oestreich also has been an active member of the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association, serving on the board and leading the IPRA Facility Management section. Community service has been an equally important focus during Oestreich’s career, and current roles include co-chair of the Bolingbrook/ Romeoville Character Counts Coalition and director of the Mentor Club, a teen mentoring program through the Institute for Community in Romeoville.

Ron is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and Keller Graduate School of Management where he received his Masters of Business Administration.
