Humphrey 'Helping Hands' Create 15 Magical Days of Christmas

Staff members at Bolingbrook middle school partner with local business representatives to raise money and buy winter coats and toys for Humphrey families.

The following news release was issued by Valley View School District 365U:

The holidays will be brighter for 15 Humphrey Middle School families thanks to another amazing Humphrey Helping Hands campaign.

Led by 7th grade teacher Claudine Sharko, Humphrey staff and local businesses contributed $2,214 during the three-week fundraising effort. The money was used to purchase winter coats, toys, books, gift cards to local grocery stores and other items for families.

Humphrey elves who assisted this year were Judy Elmore, Bridget James, Linda Eddins, Heather Eck, Jennifer Thom, Michelle Stiff, Jana Reeves, Mary Kuliavas, Karen Manak, Kathy Fritz, Kaylee Lawrence, Karen Manak, Sandi Saracco, Nancy Goins, Mary Alice Mittelheuser, and Kelly Williams. Leticia Sanborn from Bolingbrook High School also served as an elf.

Local businesses that contributed to the success included All Line Car Star Auto Body, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Bolingbrook Lions Club, St. Benedict’s Church, Papa’s Pizza Place, Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, Naperbrook Plumbing, Grove Dental and MB Financial Bank.
