Three Cheers: Bolingbrook Places 3rd & Brooks 7th at State Championships

Both Bolingbrook High School and Brooks Middle School weathered the weekend snow storm to register high finishes at the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association (ICCA) state championships in Springfield over the weekend.

The Bolingbrook High School varsity cheerleaders finished third in state in the Coed Stunt Group division, while Brooks’ cheer squad finished 7thin the junior high/middle school division.

BHS TEAM MEMBERS: Lena Nasman, Cristina Cabral, Tania Biggs, Alexia Ainoo, Molly Makowski, Kiersten Wnek, China Orr, Cayleh Smith, Emlee Nowicki-Goff, Brianna Conley, Takia Jones, Ashley Carter, Admiria Roman, LaT’ea Durden, Lauren Schorsch, Adrianna Bonner, Jada Owens, Courtney Morrison, Moriah Adjepong, Jaclyn Lynch, Janell Bell, Courtney Barnes, David Burton, Darrion Cole, Sam Showalter, Carl Branigan and Aliyia Smith. Coaches are Tammy North and Kiersten Reposh.

BROOKS TEAM MEMBERS: Niaa Asim, Haley Carr, Joselyn Cisneros, Deana Falese, KeAira Jones, Jennifer Key, Lindsey Knight, Alyssa Kucan, Alyssa Lopez, Gina Maratea, Tiana McClain, Brianna Noonan, Emily Nwokobia, Mellisa Pacheco, Kayla Perry, Emily Romero, Sonia Stachurski, Margaret Sychowski and Adriana Thigpen. Traci Falese is Head Varsity Coach and Alyssa Caputo is her assistant.

Brooks will now compete in the Illinois Elementary School Association state finals this weekend in Peoria.

BHS will compete in Illinois High School Association regionals at Riverside-Brookfield later this month with an eye on advancing to the state finals in Bloomington Feb. 7 and 8.
