The following news release was submitted by Dan Leahy, marketing & communications manager, Bolingbrook Park District:

Fountaindale Public Library is excited to team up with the Bolingbrook Park District in the third annual Winterfest. Embrace the winter weather onSaturday, February 8! The event is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and it's FREE for the whole family! Experience outdoor adventure or explore the library and check out a variety of indoor programs.

Bundle up and enjoy activities like snowshoeing, ice skating, and snowman building. Try your hand at the snowball slingshot or hockey slap-shot. Don’t forget to visit the reindeer and then warm up by the fire pit! The Bookmobile will also be parked outside so make sure to stop by for a tour if you haven’t had the chance before. As long as weather permits Ashbury’s will also be outside and will be selling delicious items like chili and pizza.

Join us indoors for crafts, face painting, and short films! Stop by Studio 300 for the Freeze Frame Photo Booth and then attend Cozy Comfort Foods and learn how to make tasty winter soups, stews, and more. Teens, don’t miss the special craft or Open Game Play, which includes  board games, Giant Jenga, and video games in the Vortex. Brook’s Cafe will also be selling treats, including a themed cookie and beverage.

The library drive-thru will be closed for the day to allow easier access to the parking lot and additional space for activities. A shuttle will be available from Brooks Middle School so attendees are encouraged to park there.

Please visit either the library or Bolingbrook Park District website for more information about the event.
