Friday the 13th, Unlucky? I think not! - That's the scratch!

Happy Friday the 13th Everyone!

I have heard many chickens here at the coop say that today’s date frightens them. It is viewed as unlucky! But, to prove a point, I did several very risky things. Being a chicken, most people would think that there is no bravery here; but, only stupidity.

Well, I am either a very brave chicken or one who just does not understand the danger of Friday the 13th! I have already stepped on cracks in the sidewalk, walked under a ladder, crossed paths with a black cat and broke a mirror. So, I will now either be the unluckiest chicken in the world, or the luckiest one you have ever met! Since I have done these shocking and daring things to tempt fate, I already feel quite different. And things have already started happening.

When I stepped on the cracks in the sidewalk, I surprisingly became part of a flash mob dancing to, (yep you guessed it), the chicken dance! It was awesome! And one heck of a way to get your cluckle on! Tale feathers flying everywhere and all sorts of peeps coming from the crowd, we made quite the spectacle.

Then I found myself having to maneuver under a ladder. Shudders run through the crowd at the thought of it! But, amazingly enough, walking under the ladder brought me yet another adventure. Instead of walking around the ladder, I found myself in perfect position to catch a home run ball that flew over the wall at the baseball park, and it was signed by the entire “Chicken Hawk” Team! Truly an amazing catch!

Even better, I found myself crossing paths with a black cat! Shocks run through the coop! But that cat had so much static electricity on it that low and behold I found my favorite lucky sock stuck to its side! So, after getting a little shock, I was reunited with my lucky sock! Black cats bad luck? Nonsense! I think it’s just the opposite!

And finally, just as I rounded the corner of the chicken coop, my neighbor flew around the corner and slammed right into me, breaking her mirror into a dozen pieces. Bad luck you say? No! Because it gave two friends the chance to catch up with each other!

So, you see, Friday the 13th does not have to be a bad luck day at all. It could get you stepping in the right direction, to dance to your own tune. Or help you find the things you have been looking for to turn your luck around. And who knows, it could bring you the perfect catch, and memories to last a life time!

I think I am going to flutter out of the coop and play a game of chance, who knows, I could win the big jack pot! And if not, hey at least I had an adventure!

 And that’s the scratch!
