Shakespeare’s famed trio of witches wouldn’t have been so crotchety if they’d been stirring up an event like this one! Witches Night Out is about women dressing up for Halloween and having fun while raising funds for three United Way of Will County social service agencies serving women and children in need.
October 25 is a party that is more cheerful than chilling. It takes place at the Historic Joliet Renaissance Center, 214 N. Ottawa St. Joliet, IL and Joliet Area Historical Museum. The masquerade will enchant all who attend. The decorations are artistic and the activities creative. Whether dressed up or not, all attending will be delighted with the flair and flamboyance of those who DO dress and accessorize.
The $15 ticket donation gets guests into the Witches’ Bazaar for shopping, into the theatre to hear a ghost story, and secures a spot to watch the costume contest with “best shoes,” “best hat,” and “best broom.” Rounding out the evening are music, a cash buffet prepared by the Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts Students, a cash bar serving a signature drink in a souvenir martini glass, and psychic readers for those who want a look into the future. Valet parking is $5.
