Bolingbrook Karate Athlete Competes In World Championships in Liverpool

 This weekend, the Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs is sending 27 talented athletes to compete and represent the United States of America at the World Shotokan Karate Championships in Liverpool, England. John DiPasquale, Chief Karate Instructor at ISKC, will lead the Chicagoland karate students as they join a handful of fellow karate athletes from across the United States as members of the United States Karate Team.

In preparation for the tournament, the United States team has undergone a vigorous training regimen to prepare themselves for the prestigious event. A team consisting of both junior and senior team members, ranging in age from 14 years old to adult, will cross the pond to compete in hopes they will bring home a gold medal and World Champion title.

The tournament will span two full days from September 28th to September 29th.  The United States team will be participating in four different events which include: Individual Kata (form), Individual Kumite (fighting), Team Kumite and Team Kata. Along with the U.S., numerous other countries will be represented at the event, including but not limited to: France, England, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, South Africa.
