Dear Readers, Please Share Your Opinion

Yorkville Patch Editor Jillian Duchnowski is seeking feedback on the site's regular features.

All good things grow, change and evolve – and Yorkville Patch is no different. As we power toward our one-year anniversary (Dec. 8!), I’m taking another look at the regular features on the site to see what, frankly, is not as good as it could be.

I really enjoy . I’m glad we recently brought back Whiz Kids with a partnership with . I love all the photos readers have been sending in for the column.

I’m also thinking it’s time to push back to once a week; and I’m kind of over Gas Guide. The likely is gone.

But I realize my opinion only matters so much. I’d love to hear what you enjoy most about Yorkville Patch. What should we keep? What needs to go?

What would you like to see more? In what areas are we weak?

Thank you, as always, for reading. I truly appreciate your feedback.

Robyn! Yes, Ice Cream has been on my list and I plan to do it very soon. I'm excited to come check out your new shop. I've been by a number of times and seen bunches of people outside enjoying ice cream. Looks like people are enjoying it. I'm thrilled to see you having success with your shop!

I think Chowdown Showdown is great. What promotes unhealthy eating is our own laziness. He isn't force feeding anyone.

What I meant was Yorkville was supposed to be considered an "active" community. Remember when it was such a big deal a couple of years ago to get the signs put up everywhere saying we are a city of "Play". Resident's are supposed to be healthy and up and moving, isn't what they were implying by giving our town that designation? All I am suggesting is that with all of the unhealthy foods out there, and over the hype over eating, and everybody being big on getting our kids, "Active" again, and not just eating junk food and playing video games, maybe you should add some of that to your chowdown, you basically only cover fast food places. If you like commenting on fast food places, great, it's a free country. I just think that, it's not promoting the "active" lifestyle that Yorkville supposedly wanted. The new Ice Cream place, the new Bakery, these are all great places to be promoting. People can go for a Canoe ride or a bike ride by the river and stop into one of these places and get a much healthier choice as opposed to the fried junk at McDonald's and KFC. It's just my suggestion, that's what she asked for right?
