Romeville Schools soft lock down

What was the police action that caused the Romeoville schools to go into soft lockdown

The police action was a shooting where the suspect was still at large. The lockdown was intended to keep the children safe until he was apprehended.

Seems like THE PATCH is SLACKING on BREAKING NEWS. I did not receive any breaking news email. Where is Ron Kremer when you need him? I think they screwed up when they let him go. He was always on top of these things. This Shannon is not on top of things. :-(

Ron did a good job. Seems to be a trend that people who do good jobs get booted out.

Totally agree with KC1018 comment...since the tragic incident of ruthless targeting of mom /daughter took place at 7a.m and the gunman was still on the loose ,it would have been wiser of letting the kids stay at home decision was taken the very first time instead of prolonging and putting the parents in emotional turmoil reg kids safety in this weather ..ESP the bus riders.

It was the worst feeling in the world not knowing where my kid was. He was a bus rider and his bus just sat in some random place for an hour and a half. They did not go to the recreation center like the automated voice mail said they were. I called everyone from the district to the school to the bus barn and no one could give me a straight answer.
