17-Year-Old Bolingbrook Man Apprehended Following Incident on Ozark Drive: Police Report

Taser was deployed as Dijon T. Kelley is taken into custody, police report.

A 17-year-old Bolingbrook man is facing two charges—felony burglary and resisting a police officer—following an incident that occurred in the 300 block of Ozark Drive on Sunday night, according to Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa.

Dijon T. Kelley, 17, of 265 Yellow Pine, Bolingbrook, was arrested after police responded to call of a male subject wearing a brown vest entering a vehicle and removing a cell phone, Rompa said.

"Officers located a subject matching the description in the area and attempted to stop him," Rompa said. "The subject fled on foot and dropped a phone. The subject—later identified as Dijon Kelly—continually ignored the officer's orders, at which point a taser was deployed."

Kelley was identified as the offender and the phone he dropped was confirmed as the phone that was removed from the vehicle, Rompa said.

Kelly was taken into custody, processed and later transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Rompa said the incident occurred at 6:10 p.m. Sunday.
