39-Year-Old Woman Faces Felony Charge for Presenting Illegal Insurance Card: Police

A judge orders that a Westmont woman—Shanae L. Howard—is to be taken into custody for falsifying insurance after she earlier was cited by Bolingbrook police.

A 39-year-old Westmont woman who was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle by Bolingbrook police—a misdemeanor—now is facing a Class 4 felony charge, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa.

Shanae L. Howard, 39, of 6720 Lakeshore Drive No. 5, Westmont, was charged with presenting an illegal insurance card to a judge (a Class 4 felony) during a court appearance on Wednesday afternoon, Rompa said.

"It was determined that Howard did not have vehicle insurance on the day in question," Rompa said. "The judge ordered Howard to be taken into custody for presenting the altered card."

Rompa said Howard was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
