Alleged Drug Dealer Charged in Death of Bolingbrook Man

Emerson Harris, 24, of Bolingbrook, was charged with drug-induced homicide in the death of a 28-year-old Bolingbrook man.

The Will County Sheriff's Office has charged an alleged drug dealer with drug-induced homicide following the fatal heroin overdose of a 28-year-old Bolingbrook man last fall.

Chad Conley, 28, was found lying in the parking lot of a Bolingbrook Wendy's, 396 S. Bolingbrook Dr., on Sept. 19. He was unresponsive and not breathing. Conley was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital and pronounced dead shortly thereafter. 

Toxicology results showed that Conley died from opiate and alcohol intoxication, according to CBS. Police said Emerson Harris, 24, of 443 Mallview in Bolingbrook, sold Conley the heroin that contributed to his death.

Harris has been charged with drug-induced homicide and faces a possible sentence of six to 30 years in prison, according to the Bolingbrook Reporter. He was already in custody at Will County Jail for an unrelated delivery of heroin charge. His bail was set at $1 million. 

Conley's mother, Cindy Negrette, told CBS police had informed her of the warrant and she was “very glad no one will be able to buy from (Harris) again.”

Conley was married and the father of two sons, according to CBS
