With temperatures expecting to rise over the next several days, the Will County Sheriff's Department is reminding residents that there are numerous cooling centers available to provide relief from the dangerous heat.
In Bolingbrook, temperatures are expected to get as high as 96 degrees by Thursday.
Today, the Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) released a current cooling enter list. In Bolingbrook, residents can seek shelter from the heat at:
- DuPage Township Levy Center, 251 Canterbury (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Bolingbrook Fire Station #3, 376 East Boughton Rd.
- Bolingbrook Fire Station #4, 1111 West Boughton Rd.
- Bolingbrook Fire Station #5, 1900 Rodeo Dr.
The fire stations are on call as cooling centers, so residents should call 630-226-0600 to confirm the facility is available.

The sheriff's department urges residents to keep an eye on elderly family members and neighbors during extreme temperatures. Visit them to be sure their living quarters are cool and comfortable and make sure they are drinking plenty of fluids and staying indoors. If you have a neighbor that you do not feel comfortable checking on, please call and ask the Will County Sheriff’s Office (815-727-8575) or your municipal police department to execute a welfare check.
