Bolingbrook Blotter: Armed Robbers Target Stranded Driver

Arrests and incidents reported by Bolingbrook police.

Feb. 5

A tote bag containing two cell phones, several credit cards, a checkbook and a handgun was taken from an unsecured vehicle on the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive at 9:05 a.m., police said.

Feb. 4

Kyle Gonzalez, 27, 245 Whitewater Dr., was charged with no valid driver’s license, no valid registration and possession of drug equipment, following a traffic stop at Bolingbrook Dr. and Lily Cache Ln. at 7:07 p.m., according to police.

Feb. 3

Arlene Pryor, 54, 228 Bristol Way, was charged with theft at Macy’s, 645 E. Boughton Rd., after police said she took money from the store register over a six-month period. Loss valued at $700. 

A rear and side window were broken to a vehicle parked on Lily Cache Ln. & Raider Way between 8:40 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., police said.

Officers responded to the area of Cranberry Dr. and Clear Ln. for the report of an armed robbery. The victim reportedly got stuck in a snow drift while leaving a party at around 12:50 a.m., and while attempting to push out the vehicle, two unknown subjects offered to help, then displayed a handgun. The suspects allegedly stole cell phones and a laptop before running off, police said.

John Ketchem, 54, 5627 N. Mulligan Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving too fast for conditions and two counts of DUI, following a traffic stop at Lily Cache Ln. & Schmidt Rd. at 4:40 p.m., police said.
