Bolingbrook Man Accused of Robbing Two Homes Sunday

Quincy McCoy, of Bolingbrook, was arrested and charged with residential burglary, but another nearby burglary could add to his charges.

Police are investigating a pair of Sunday night burglaries that they believe will both link to a Bolingbrook man already in custody.

Quincy McCoy, of the 200 block of Karen Circle, was arrested and charged with residential burglary after he was identified as the person who attempted to rob a home on the 400 block of North Ashbury Avenue shortly after 8:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police said McCoy was identified as the man who stole a digital camera, a Daisy BB gun and $30 in coins before running out the back patio door and past the man living in the residence, who was just returning home.

But another burglary at a nearby house may add to McCoy's charges, said police Lt. Mike Rompa.

According to police, McCoy also attempted a burglary at a house on the 600 block of Forest Way. Formal charges, though, have yet to be made.

Residents of the Forest Way home responded to a doorbell ring and noticed the front storm door propped open with a rock. The thief was standing outside the door, pointed a handgun at the resident and demanded money, police said. After the victim ran back inside the house, the thief went to the back of the home and ran away, police said.

Police later caught McCoy cutting through yards near the area.

Rompa said charges for the Forest Way burglary could be added after further review by the state's attorney's office.
