A man has been charged with felony attempted child abduction in connection to an incident in February.
George D. Smith, 65, 536 Cottonwood, was taken into custody at 3:53 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Lexington Drive, Bolingbrook police said.
Smith is accused of trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into his truck at 3:18 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 100 block of Lexington Drive, police said. Details from that incident were not available.
After the attempted abduction, police were able to obtain information from the girl and locate Smith at Clementine's Bar, 361 N. Schmidt Road.
Police said he was taken into custody on a local disorderly conduct charge and released on bond, pending review and discretion of the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office on the date of the incident.
The local charges were dismissed on Wednesday in local court at the request of the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.
After further review, a warrant was issued Thursday.
Smith remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.
