Bolingbrook Man Dies After Struck by Pick-up in Chicago

Death was ruled an accident.

A Bolingbrook man struck by a pick-up truck on Chicago’s South Side last month died Saturday evening.

John Lauricella, of the 300 block of Musial Circle, was struck by a pickup truck at about 1 p.m. July 29 in the 3000 block of South State Street, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune. Lauricella was struck as he crossed the street, the Trib reported. 

Lauricella died Saturday at 6:28 p.m.

The death was ruled an accident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Pedro Reyes-Cruz, 49, of Chicago was the driver of the truck. He was cited for driving without a valid license and failure to exercise care for a pedestrian in the roadway, the Tribune reported.
