Bolingbrook Man Spit in Officer's Face: Police

21-year-old David Hall accused of challenging cops to fight before leading them on a chase.

A Bolingbrook man faces an aggravated battery charge after allegedly challenging cops to fight before spitting in an officer's face, police said.

David Hall, 21, was arrested after police responded to a 911 call reporting someone screaming outside a home in the 300 block of Blackfoot Drive just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Lt. Mike Rompa.

Rompa said when police arrived, a male subject exited the home and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the subject — later identified as Hall — alleged "assumed a fighting stance and challenged officers to fight," Rompa said.

Upon being taken into custody, Hall allegedly spit in an officer's face, according to police.

Rompa said further investigation revealed that Hall was involved in a domestic disturbance at his home in the 300 block of Blackfoot. According to police, Hall cut his finger when he broke a glass vase inside the home before fleeing.

He was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital for treatment of his injured finger, then cleared for incarceration, Rompa said.

Hall was charged with resisting/obstructing a peace officer, two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, aggravated assault and possession of drug equipment, according to police.
