Bolingbrook Mom Abused 9-Month-Old Son: Police

A 21-year-old Bolingbrook mother was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery.

A 21-year-old Bolingbrook mother was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery after her 9-month-old son was treated for severe injuries about his body and head, police said.

Olga Arredondo, 21, of Bolingbrook, brought her son to Physicians Immediate Care in Bolingbrook earlier this month. He was immediately transferred to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital "due to the suspicious nature and indication of severe injuries."

Bolingbrook Police responded to the Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in reference to an alleged child abuse investigation.

Adventist transferred the child to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Investigators initially interviewed Olga at Children's Memorial on May 13.

The Will County State's Attorney's Office approved aggravated battery charges and Bolingbrook Detectives were able to take her into custody Wednesday at 1:23 p.m. The Department of Children and Family Services was also notified.

The child has been released from the hospital.
