Police Blotter: Facility Damaged, Beer Bottles Found Inside

Thefts from Kohl's, car theft and more in the Bolingbrook police blotter of Oct. 6.

Oct. 6 

Property damage

A property on the 300 block of N. Weber Road was damaged and beer bottles and miscellaneous paraphernalia were found inside the facility, Bolingbrook police said.

Coach wallet, credit cards 

A Coach wallet and credit cards were stolen from a purse on the 1100 block of W. Boughton Road between noon and 3 p.m., police said.

Theft from Kohl's 

Officers were called to Kohl’s, of 1138 W. Boughton Rd., for the report of a retail theft, police said. An unknown subject was seen entering the dressing area with numerous pieces of clothing.  The subject then left the store with several items without paying. The loss was valued at $105. 

Theft from Kohl's 

Araceli Vargas, 27, of 316 Woodcreek Dr. was arrested at 6:20 p.m. and charged with retail theft, no valid drivers license and no insurance following a call for shoplifting at Kohl’s, 1138 W. Boughton Rd., police said. 

Resisting a peace officer

Faraz Akhtar, 24, of 532 W Briarcliff Rd., was arrested at 11:35 p.m. and charged with resisting a peace officer, failure to signal, equipment violation and a moving violation following a traffic stop on the 300 block W. Boughton Road, police said. 

Resisting a peace officer 

Devon Lawson, 22, of 1751 Alan Deatheridge Dr., was arrested at 12:32 a.m. and charged with an in-state warrant and resisting a peace officer, police said. Rodney Westfield, 20, of 1450 W. 83rd Str., Chicago was arrested and charged with resisting a peace officer on the 600 block of E. Boughton Road.

Side panels of trailer stolen 

Officers were called to the 100 block of S. Joliet Road for the report of a theft of motor vehicle parts, police said. The side panels of a trailer were removed between Oct. 5 and 6. 

Driving under the influence 

Anthony Rataicztk, 36, of 133 Lake Shore Dr., was arrested at 1:21 a.m. and charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and no insurance following traffic stop at Boughton Road and Aaron Drive, police said.
