Bolingbrook Police Blotter: Woman Steals $60,000 in Tablets and Cell Phones

Theft from unlocked car, U-Haul stolen and more in the Bolingbrook police blotter of Dec. 2, 4 and 7.

Dec. 7 

Residential burglary 

Officers responded to the 200 block of Edgehill Dr., for the report of a residential burglary, police said. The front door was kicked in, a PS3 game system, several video games and pieces for jewelry were stolen between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The loss was valued at $2,200.

GPS stolen from unlocked car 

A GPS unit was taken from an unlocked vehicle on the 300 block of Claridge Circle between Dec. 6 and 7, police said. The loss was valued at $200.

U-Haul truck rented and not returned 

A U-Haul truck was rented and not returned to the business on the 200 block of W. North Frontage Road, police said. 

No insurance, improper lane usage 

Jonathan Overton, 20, 1378 Parkside Dr., was arrested at 7:32 p.m. and charged with no insurance, and improper lane usage following a traffic stop at Rt. 53 and Remington Boulevard, police said. 

In-state warrant 

Ryan Stewart, 28, 541 Goodwin Dr., was arrested at 2:05 p.m. and charged with an in-state warrant, following a traffic stop at Boughton Road and Goodwin Drive, police said. 

Dec. 4 

Theft at US Cellular 

Mary Samy, 27, 301 Malibu Dr., was arrested and charged with theft at US Cellular, 245 W. Crossroads, after sending numerous Samsung Galaxy tablets and cell phones to out of state addresses. The loss was valued at more than $60,000. 

Dec. 2

Theft from Target 

Theresa Collins, 40, 1053 Ridgewood Ln., was arrested at 11:45 a.m. and charged with theft at Target, 1188 W. Boughton Rd., police said.
