Bolingbrook Police: Car Ends Up in Pond After Hitting Trees, Car, Mailbox

A car ended up in a pond behind Menards after the driver lost control near Route 53 and Lee Lane, according to Bolingbrook police.

A car ended up in a pond behind Menards, 290 N. Bolingbrook Dr., after a driver lost control and the car struck trees, a car and a mailbox, according to Bolingbrook police. 

The incident took place at 8:03 p.m. at Oct. 26 in the 100 block of Northridge Avenue. 

The car was found unoccupied and still running. It had struck a mailbox in the 200 block of Delaware Drive and a car in the rear of Brooks Middle School.

Police said it appeared the car traveled east on Lee Lane before the driver lost control coming across Route 53, went across the grass, struck the trees and came to rest. 

The incident remains under investigation.
