Bolingbrook Police Host Annual Shop With a Cop Event

Kids partner with local cops to shop for the holidays.

More than 100 local students shopped with Bolingbrook cops Wednesday in the police department's annual Shop With a Cop event.

The program, held at Meijer, gives students a $50 gift card courtesy of Meijer while cops assist them while they shop.

The Bolingbrook Police Department has hosted the program for 14 years, Bolingbrook Lieutenant Mike Rompa said.

"Many of the kids selected items for other family members before thinking of themselves," Rompa said. "The program elevates the holiday spirit throughout the Bolingbrook community."

The police department would like to send out a special thanks to Meijer East Store Manager Brian Danner and his Retail Administrative Assistant Pam Willis for making this event possible.
