Bolingbrook Police Seize Semi-Automatic, Ammo During Traffic Stop

Two Joliet men face firearms charges.

Two Joliet men face felony weapons charges after a traffic stop in Bolingbrook, police said.

Antoine Henderson, 19, of the 300 block of Broadway, and Brandon Hadley, 21, of the 800 block of Juniper Street, were booked into the Will County jail on charges of possession of a firearm without a firearm owner's identification card and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to police.

Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa said the arrests came after police stopped a red 1993 Ford Explorer for an equipment violation at around 10:46 p.m. Friday at Delaware Drive and Lee Lane.

Further investigation turned up a .380 semi-automatic handgun and ammunition, according to Rompa.

Rompa declined to say whether the weapon was in plain view or if a search was conducted on the vehicle. He also refused to say what equipment violation prompted the traffic stop, although Will County court records show that Hadley faces a traffic charge for headlight/taillight/sidelight violation.

The five occupants of the vehicle, all from Joliet, were taken to the Bolingbrook Police Department for further investigation, Rompa said.

Three of the occupants, two 20-year-olds and a 23-year-old, were released without charges, Rompa said.

Bond information for Henderson and Hadley was not immediately available Monday.

Will County court records show that Henderson pleaded guilty in August 2012 to aggravated assault/use of a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 148 days in jail and 24months probation.
