An IPad was stolen from an office on the 200 block of N. Weber Road between 9 a.m. and 1:03 p.m., police said. The loss was valued at $800.

Obstructing justice, two in-state warrants

Elton Effinger, 46, of 246 Roman Circle., was arrested at 8:26 p.m. and charged with obstructing justice and two in-state warrants following a traffic stop on the 100 block of E. Briarcliff Road, police said.

Victim struck in head with object following traffic altercation
Officers responded to Schmidt Road and Crossroads Boulevard for the report of a battery at 4:07 p.m., police said. The victim states he or she was struck in the head with an object after a traffic altercation. The victim was transported to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital for his or her injuries.

Ran off without paying cab fare
Officers were called to the 400 block of Monet Circle for the report of theft of services at 4:30 p.m., police said. The subject exited the cab and ran off, refusing to pay for the fare. The loss was valued at $100.
Car damage, theft
Officers responded to the 500 block of Janes Avenue for the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle, police said. A window was broken out and a purse containing several credit cards and a cell phone were stolen between 11:05 a.m. and 11:18 p.m.
