Bolingbrook Teen Pleads Not Guilty to Drug-Related Shooting

The 16-year-old teen arrested after police said has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated battery, armed robbery, and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Thompson was arrested at 9:34 p.m. Feb. 4 in the 400 block of Bolingbrook Drive and taken to River Valley Youth Detention facility, police said. He is being charged as an adult and held on a $250,000 bond.

The motive of the shooting “appears to be narcotics related,” police said.
Bolingbrook officers said they responded at 5:39 p.m. Jan. 29 to the 100 block of Somerset Lane where they found a 16-year-old teen with a gunshot wound to the neck.
The victim said the shooting happened behind a Boughton Road business and that he was taken by a friend from that area to the Somerset location.

Emergency responders provided medical treatment and the teen was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
Thompson is forbidden to have contact with the victim.
