Bolingbrook Water Slide Hell Ride: Lawsuit

A woman said she was knocked unconscious while riding on a Pelican Harbor water slide.

A woman claiming she suffered injuries when she was knocked unconscious on a Pelican Harbor Aquatic Park water slide has filed a lawsuit against the village and the park district.

The woman, Katherine Flores, rode a tube down a slide in June 2012 when—near the end of the ride—she was knocked out, the lawsuit said.

According to the suit, "the force of the water was at an excessive speed resulting in (Flores) striking her head and shoulder against the slide, and losing consciousness."

Flores was riding down the slide with her husband when she hit her head and was knocked out, the suit said. She allegedly still suffers from unspecified injuries.

The lawsuit also claims that Flores wasn't the first casualty claimed by that particular Pelican Harbor Aquatic Park water slide.

"Prior to June 10, 2102, there were multiple injuries sustained by other patrons riding down the subject slide that defendants should have been aware of," the suit said.
