Bolingbrook Welcomes Home Sgt. Brian Barrett from Third Tour of Duty

Bolingbrook police and fire officials, the Patriot Guard and community members welcomed home Barrett Saturday after 10 months of serving in Kuwait.

Bolingbrook welcomed home Sgt. Brian Barrett Saturday. 

Barrett recently returned to Bolingbrook after his third tour of duty with the National Guard. During his last tour, he served in Kuwait for 10 months. 

Barrett received a welcome home surprise from the Promenade Bolingbrook to Tailgater's Sports Bar & Grill. Bolingbrook fire and police officials, the Patriot Guard and others were part of the welcome home celebration. Barrett rode in a 1953 Chevy convertible.

Barrett was born in Freeport, Illinoi and has served in the National Guard for 12 years, according to a Operation Welcome You Home forum. He received the Army Accommodation award in 2013 and plans to continue his work for the Department of Defense as a Blackhawk helicopter mechanic.
