Bolingbrook Woman Used Fake Prescriptions to Score Ambien, Police Said

Tanya Macikanycz charged with obtaining a substance by fraud.

A Bolingbrook woman was arrested at her home Sunday after allegedly obtaining false prescriptions for Ambien.

Tanya L. Macikanycz, 30, of the 0-100 block of Lakewood Court, is charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud after an early monthly investigation by Bolingbrook police.

Lt. Mike Rompa said police received a report March 2 of a woman allegedly filing false prescriptions through a doctor's office in Woodridge. The woman would then pick up the prescriptions at Walgreens, 101 Lily Cache Lane.

On March 30, the doctor's office contacted Bolingbrook police and identified the subject. An investigation revealed that Macikanycz had obtained fake prescriptions for the sleep aid, Rompa said.

Macikanycz was arrested Sunday morning at her home in Bolingbrook, Rompa said.
