Bomb Squad Called to Bolingbrook Parking Lot, Suicide Reported

Bomb squad units responded to a Bolingbrook Jewel-Osco Tuesday night for the report of a suspicious package and a possible suicide, according to preliminary reports.

According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, a 43-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday.

Bolingbrook police had been asked to help find the man who was thought to be suicidal, according to the Trib. An autopsy has been scheduled for later today, the report said.

Bomb squad units responded to a car parked at Jewel-Osco, 1200 W. Boughton Rd., Tuesday night for the report of a suspicious package and a possible suicide, according to preliminary reports.

Northern Illinois FireGround Photos Facebook page, which reports fire and other incidents in the Chicago area posted, "Suicide in a car with suspicious package" around 11 p.m. 

The car was later declared safe, according to scanner reports, and emergency personnel were awaiting the arrival of a coroner. One victim was reported to be in the car. 

No official details have been released by the Bolingbrook Police Department or other agencies. Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.
