Chicago Man Sentenced to Eight Years for Dealing Heroin

Antoine Johnson allegedly sold heroin to DuPage County narcotics agents five teams between March and April.

A 27-year-old Chicago man was sentenced to eight years in prison Monday after he was convicted of selling heroin, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney.

Antoine Johnson entered a blind plea of guilty on Oct. 29 to one count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class X Felony).

Between March 22 and April 12, Johnson allegedly sold heroin to undercover DuMEG (DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group) narcotics agents on five separate occasions. After the fifth deal, Johnson was taken into custody and charged. All of the transactions took place in southeast DuPage County.

“I would like to commend officials at DuMEG for their solid police work in this case,” Berlin said in a press release. “Because of their efforts, we were able to get another drug dealer off the streets and behind bars where he belongs. Heroin continues to be a thorn in the side of society. It is an extremely addictive drug that has taken far too many young lives and destroyed countless others.

My office is committed to working with DuMEG and other law enforcement agencies to ensure that those who push heroin and other drugs on our children will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I would also like to thank Assistant State’s Attorney Audrey Anderson for her continued efforts in protecting society from illegal drugs and the pain and heartache they can bring.”
